Paso Robles' historic wine-making past and thriving present

Paso Robles' winemaking history dates back to the 1790s, when Franciscan Friars planted vineyards at missions San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and San Miguel Arcangel. The Padres of Mission San Miguel were the first vineyardists in the area. Today, Paso Robles is a world-class wine region with over 200 wineries and vineyards. The area hosts eleven sub-appellations, creating a superior growing environment for more than 60 varietals.
